Cards and Stickers
This is the portion of the Museum dedicated to collectable cards, TCG cards, promotional cards, post cards and stickers. The vast majority of these cards came from ebay, but a few have only been sold in Japan and have only been available on Yahoo! Japan auctions. IF IT'S FLAT AND CARDY OR STICKY YOU SHALL FIND IT HERE!

PLEASE NOTE: while i'm still collecting TCG mewtwo, this page is in need of updating badly!!

TCG Cards
Collection Status: INCOMPLETE! They just released a new one! Reverse holos/first editions/etc junk not counted.

Jumbo Korokoro "Myuutsu no Gyakushuu" / "Mewtwo Strikes Back"
Rarity: fairly rare.
Distributed in: Japan
Other Comments: THIS THING IS HUGE. about 20 by 14.5cm!

This card was given to me as a birthday present. I believe it was distributed around the time the first movie hit in Japan, but I'm really not sure. It's gynormous and so from what people tell me I think that means it's illegal to actually play it in a tournament. |3 Ahahahaha YOU'D NEVER SEE IT COMING IN A DECK, I SWEAR. It pops up on ebay and YJ both, ocassionally.

Mewtwo Delta
Rarity: fairly rare.
Distributed in: Worldwide
Other Comments: Its element is actually fire. Ooooo.

One of the more expensive cards out there right now. Not much to say on this. I got this one off ebay. Mewtwo looks like he's about to shoot into your eyeball or something. Shows up on ebay, not so much YJ.
Bigger Image: Click to View

Rocket's Mewtwo ex
Rarity: quite rare
Distributed in: Worldwide
Other Comments: This is currently the most expensive mewtwo card on the market. It's also a dark type.

Unlike with my other card auctions, I did not get really lucky finding this puppy. Although it normally sold for 25 at the time I bought it, I managed to snag it for 15...That's still quite pricey for a card. I think it may be banned in tournaments. A cardgeek can help me out on that. This was the final card to complete the collection. Shows up on ebay, not so much on YJ.

Mewtwo ex
Rarity: fairly rare.
Distributed in: Worldwide
This is another pricey mewtwo card out there (not as bad as Rocket's ex) but I was lucky enough to find a seller who didn't know what they had...and got it for 3$. Woo! Shows up on ebay, not so much YJ.

Team Rocket's Mewtwo / R-dan no Myuutsu
Rarity: Getting rarer...
Distributed in: Worldwide
Other Comments: This was one of the first released in the Gym Leader decks in the 90s and early 2000s.

For the longest time in high school, this was the last card I was missing. It was 15$ back then, sometimes priced higher, and that was just too much for me. One day, I finally got it out of a booster pack (imported boosters were 9$ back then too...pricey, huh?) and my search was over. This card has a lot of sentimental value.

Mewtwo (base card
Rarity: veeeeery common
Distributed in: Worldwide (There are many language versions)
Other Comments: This card was actually distributed in a non-holo form when they started removing holos from the booster packs. It's so common, though, paying more than 1$ is overcharge.

The first card, the essential card. You can wind up with like 20 of these without even batting an eyelash. BUT. IT'S NEEDED TO COMPLETE THE COLLECTION. So here it is.

Mewtwo / Myuutsu (promotional)
Rarity: rare
Distributed in: Japan
Other Comments: Non-holo. Promo for SOMETHING...I dunno what

I've only seen this card for sale on YJ once, and I snagged it <3 I'm not certain when or where it first came out, or what it was in promotion of. A pretty rare find with some rather nice art, in my opinion.

GR-dan no Myuutsu
Rarity: rare
Distributed in: Japan
Other Comments: GR comes from Great Rocket which is a team available in the 2nd card game for Gameboy in Japan only

Cool! An awesome person told me about this card- the GR stands for Great Rocket. Mwa-ha! I no longer feel ignorant of this card.

10th Movie Anniversary Mewtwo
Rarity: fairly rare
Distributed in: Japan
Other Comments: Distributed in a set. Photos here and here. Also, the back is different from the normal Japenese card back.

This, the newest mewtwo card on the market, was available ONLY if you bought a special card set and binder commemorating the 10 movies. The binder was for sale in the Pokémon Centers in Japan for a very limited time. The catch was that to complete the set of 10 cards, you needed to go see the 10th movie (Darkrai) and get a promo Darkrai card there. ...As you can see from the photos, I did just that. :D Right now, this card can be got on both ebay and YJ.

US movie Mewtwo (promotional)
Rarity: fairly common
Distributed in: USA
Other Comments: Non-holo. Promo for the 1st movie in the USA. Gold stamp reads "The WB presents POKéMON The First Movie".

This was the card you stood a 1 in 4 chance of getting if you went to see the first movie in theatres in the USA (back in the 90s). You also chanced getting Dragonite, Electabuzz and Pikachu. Why Electabuzz, I dunno, cause he wasn't even in the movie. Anyway about a billion of these were given out, but they're getting rarer just by age. I got mine at the theatre. :3

Mewtwo / Myuutsu (promotional)
Rarity: getting rarer...
Distributed in: Japan
Other Comments: Non-holo. Promo for ...sssomething. Closely resembles the US movie promo card (listed above)

Man I very nearly did not get this card. It looked so similar to the US movie card, I thought it was the same thing for a long time before I realized it's facing the opposite direction and sliiiiightly different. It's getting harder to find, just because of age. I picked this up off ebay years ago.

Aquapolis Mewtwo

Other Comments: Non-holo.

What the hell is mewtwo doing on this card. It looks like Bela Lugosi.

Vending Machine Mewtwo / Myuutsu (promotional)
Rarity: quite rare
Distributed in: Japan
Other Comments: Non-holo. Promotional, available only through vending machines in the 90s. Reportedly, fanart was used to make this card set.

This card blew my mind when I first heard about it. It came from a set which was rumored at the time to have been completely art done by fans in Japan. Is that true? I don't know, but it's still a very cool and very rare card. When I used to collect in America, I thought I'd never ever find this card. I got this off ebay in a lot just recently, but it does show up on YJ more frequently.

ex Holon's Phantoms Mewtwo Delta
Rarity: fairly rare
Distributed in: Worldwide
Other Comments: It's electric type :v Text reads "ex HOLON's PHANTOMS"

THIS CARD HAS THE LONGEST NAME IN EXISTANCE I SWEAR TO FREAKING GOD. It shows up on ebay pretty commonly but with all those ZILLIONS OF NAMES it's a little hard to search for.

"Telekenesis" Mewtwo (promotional)
Rarity: getting rarer...
Distributed in: US?
Other Comments: Non-holo. Released promo with Nintendo Power. Commonly known as the 'telekeneisis' mewtwo card. Do not confuse it with this STICKER! The sticker isn't a card and is much larger.

According to people on the community, this was released in Nintendo Power! It looks like it's making psychic pancakes. panic cakes. PANICAKES.

"Psyburn" Mewtwo (promotional)
Rarity: getting rarer...
Distributed in: US?
Other Comments: Non-holo. Promo for the VHS. Commonly known as the 'psyburn' mewtwo card. Has an identical moveset to the US 1st movie promo mewtwo.

This card and the card above it blur together in my mind. Came in the old clamshell with the VHS of "Mewtwo Strikes Back." Though this card looks like mewtwo just climbed out of the genetic stew they made it in. DRIP DRIP DRIP.

Shining "Neo Destiny" Mewtwo
Rarity: rare
Distributed in: Worldwide?
Other Comments: Commonly called "Neo Destiny" mewtwo for reasons lost on me. Text at the top states you may not have more than 1 shining mewtwo in a deck.

For a reaaaaally long time this was the top priced card on the market. It's recently come down in price, but it used to get listed for 30$ and up on ebay. I think it might be illegal in tournaments.

Shining Mewtwo Star
Rarity: rare?
Distributed in: Worldwide
Other Comments: According to the text, only one star pokémon is allowed in each deck.

prguitarman has informed me that this card is EXTREMELY rare and sought after, despite it not being the most expensive right now. COOL! :D

Glow in the Dark wall stickies
Rarity: rare
Distributed in: USA
Other Comments: Although the pack is listed as mewtwo, there are some mews inside.

In case you wanted glowing meglomaniacal genetic screw-ups glaring down at you all night while you sleep, y'know. They're sticky-to-wall-y so they're in stickers.

Pokémon Kids Stickers
Rarity: Some more common than others
Distributed in: Japan
Other Comments: This set is incomplete! I'm missing two!

These are the small stickers that come with the little plastic toys known as Pokémon Kids. You can view the kids in the figures section, but these stickers are basicly mini pokédex entries. I AM MISSING TWO D:

Mewtwo Wall Clinger

7/11 sticker sheet (promotional)
Rarity: Easy to get, hard to find online
Distributed in: Japanese 7/11s
Other Comments: What do you mean you can't see mewtwo? It's right there! Recieved for doing a special promotional event.

This set of stickers could only be aquired if you got 4 different pokémon stamps located at 4 different 7/11s. Since every 7/11 had one of the 8 stamps, it wasn't hard to do at all. Me and Gin did it in about an hour one afternoon. Available only in 2007, as promo for the 10th movie. You could also get a poster. But I don't truck with posters.

Pokémon Pan Stickers

Rarity: The newer, the more common
Distributed in: Japan
Other Comments: COMPLETED. I RULE.

These stickers would come in pokémon-themed pastries that you can buy at just about any supermarket in Japan except the ones by my house (go figure). However, WHAT sticker you get is kind of random.

Pokémon Sticker Set 2
Rarity: Common, but not online
Distributed in: Japan
Other Comments: Sold at the pokémon center in 2007

Uhhh what can I really say. This is one of the new sets of stickers the pokémon centers in Japan released for 2007. It's got a big clear mewtwo on it.

Legendary Pokémon Sticker Set Mewtwo
Rarity: Getting rarer...
Distributed in: Japan
Other Comments: These stickers are papery (no gloss) and VERY small (fingernail sized)

These tiny tiny stickers came in a set of other legendary pokémon which was in a plasticy round Palkia case. It was released as another of the promotions of the 10th movie. 2007 was a good time to be a mewtwo collector in Japan. Bigger Image: Click to View

Silvery Advance Generation Sticker
Rarity: Rare
Distributed in: Japan
Other Comments: Distributed in 2006 as a part of the Leaf Green/ Fire Red promo, I suspect

No real idea where this is from. The date says 2006 which makes me think FR/LG. The text looks like something from a McDonald's commercial. So RAINBOWY!

Movie Sticker Sets
Rarity: Common, but not online
Distributed in: Japan
Other Comments: You stood a 1 in 10 chance of getting this sticker, since sets were made for all the movies. Released in 2007.

This sticker set was just released within the past month, and is very new. There's a set for every movie, which means I went through about 8 of these damn things looking for the mewtwo one. The back of the card looks like this and the packaging like this.

Psyburn Card Boxtopper

Rarity: Getting Rarer...
Distributed in: America?
Other Comments: Commonly mistaken for the Telekenesis card. It's about 12.5 by 9cm in size.

This is sometimes called a sticker, a special promo card or a boxtopper. Me, I call it a sticker, cause if you peel the back away you could STICK IT TO THINGS which is generally what defines a sticker. The back has a list of cards as you can see here.

Various Bootlegged Stickers
Rarity: uncommon
Distributed in: Worldwide
Other Comments: BOOTYLICIOUS.

Not a ONE of these stickers is legit merch. I picked them all up back in the 90s at Chinese stationary stores. Their pretty sparkles are enough to keep me from actually sticking them to stuff, though.

Offical Whiteback Sticker

Rarity: common
Distributed in: Worldwide
Other Comments: stock art, from the 90s

i had one of these a million years ago and i stuck it on a sketchbook. i should find that book and scan the art and put it next to some current art just so you get an idea HOW LONG AGO THAT WAS.

Mewtwo Strikes Back Movie Stickers
Rarity: Rare
Distributed in: Japan
Other Comments: Promo for the first movie, and Pikachu's Summer Vacation short.

Uhhh what can I say? You've seen one movie promo sticker, you've likely seen them all since most recycle the same poses. But, here's a new one. On that note I think the american box art is absolutely hideous and the Japanese, while erratic and poorly constructed, is so much less of a DISASTER.

Tiny Glow-in-the-Dark Bootleg Sticker

Rarity: VERY rare
Distributed in: China
Other Comments: BOOTLYLICIOUS. also glows.

Ahahaha. Ahahaha. Wooow. It's like someone went 'hey, what colour is mewtwo?' and his buddy replied 'I dunno. Like. White and purple and pink or something around the stomach.' and the guy coloured it like this and was like 'That good?' and they were like 'yeah sure whatever.' and sold it.

Winter 99 Stickers

Rarity: Very Rare
Distributed in: Japan
Other Comments: Given out at the Shogakukan Comic Fair in 99

This is deceptively tiny. I mean that this entire sticker sheet is smaller than a TCG card. I think that's why it was promotional, it was tiny as all get out.

'Dex Sticker

Rarity: Common
Distributed in: Japan

I just kind of...aquired this. It was in a booklet of stickers on wax paper that came with another auction I won. ADDED BONUS! most rainbowy mewtwo sticker out there.

AWA Pokémon Plane Boarding Pass
Rarity: Rare

Other Comments: This boarding pass was ONLY given out to people flying on the pokémon plane.

I'm still not sure how one gets a ride on the pokémon plane. Maybe you win a lottery, maybe it's total chance. Either way, these boarding cards are super rare. I've only seen maybe 3. They seem to turn up on ebay just as frequently as YJ. You can see the back here.
